If you have a favorite blog that you read daily then you must like some of the things the author is posting. 5 things that most blog readers really like range from lists to short posts. Here is a list that I created on what blog readers like to read.
1. Be optimistic, unless you are writing for a death blog or something of that nature. Being optimistic will make your readers happy. This could lead to them liking your site more.
2. Be close to your readers. When I am talking to a friend I am being my self. When I am talking to a pretty lady I act macho. When I write to you guys I try my hardest to be myself, and maybe some of you guys like me being myself. Being your self will give your readers a sense of closeness, even if that means saying you buy ice cream at the same food store.
3. Using lists. All readers don’t want to here you beat around the bush, they want to here the true information. Using a list accomplishes that. Your readers will not have to read paragraphs leading up to information, but a smaller more informative list.
4. Sometimes, most of the time, shorter posts are better than longer posts. Your readers don’t want to sit at their computer and read about your personal experiences. They want to learn about “making money” for example. Not about how you made money. (even though I have shared my experiences with you.)
5. Stick to one idea in every post. Don’t drift out into space and start writing about something of topic. Keeping on topic will keep your readers coming back.
Now when you start your blog you will make money, and use some of the tips above.
